I can’t bear the stress of having to relocate. Thank goodness for companies like GM van lines those are there to help you out. They were just amazing during my move. I have a lot of delicate items and old furniture. The crew of 3 men was absolutely brilliant while handling them. They packed everything properly and carried them carefully out of my apartment. I was very excited to see all my belongings turning up at my new house right on scheduled time. Everything was in its original condition. I am a happy client. I was moving into another state. It was my first cross-country move. So, I wanted to make everything perfect. I hired gm van lines because one of my friends recommended them. The movers were on time. Every single person of the 5-person team was efficient and kind. These guys might charge low but they know how to do their job efficiently. Nothing was damaged. My furniture was treated carefully. Appropriate packing and numbering was done and my valuables arrived in 3 days with no damage to the furniture. All I have to say- they did an outstanding job! Very poor

At first everything was great, at pick was a little disappoint to find a sharp increase in my estimate but was explained and the pick up guys were great. Was assured that there would be no problem after we explained that a semi wouldn't be able to fit down the drive and that we would need to be contacted before delivery for directions as there were 2 driveways. Was never given my drivers info, drivers truck broke down and we had to help them, found out my stuff was subleased to another without being told, my and others belongings were haphazardly thrown onto the truck, could get and help from dispatcher when at delivery we were told they would need an additional 400 to get a shuttle, my stuff wasn't placed for reassembled, furniture, boxes, and appliances were damaged.

GM van lines made sure my family and I don’t go through any stress during our move. All four movers sent from the company were very capable and friendly. They arrived right on time. They displayed amazing skills in packing everything and loading them onto the van. I was so glad to see how fast they were since I was paying them hourly. The delivery was smooth as well. The van arrived on time and the movers unpacked everything and put them in their rightful places. We were so glad that we didn’t have to sleep on the floor waiting for our furniture to arrive.

Damaged Furniture Due To Improper Handling

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I would give GM Van Lines a MINUS 5 Stars if I could!! Called and spoke to the owner Oded. He quoted an estimate without visiting the premises. Of course the quote was low to get the job but the actual cost was almost twice as much. I had a mover who moved my furniture 1800 MILES without any damage. GM Van Lines delivered it 26 miles and it was a disaster!! My computer desk was destroyed, movers broke my brass lamp, my wood dinette set, wood bedroom chests and dressers, and headboards, had deep gouges (chunks of wood missing) severe scratches, because the laborers FAILED TO WRAP MY FURNITURE IN PLASTIC OR BLANKETS!! The adjustment screw on my expensive grandfather CLOCK WAS BENT AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED CAUSING THE INABILITY TO ADJUST TIME. HIRING GM VAN LINES WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES OF MY LIFE!! I REGRET HIRING THIS COMPANY FOR MY MOVE!! THIS COMPANY WAS A TOTAL DISASTER

This company is 100% professional The is guys work so hard and so fast that I'm amazed. No single damage and the price was great as well. Not cheap and not too expensive somewhere in the middle of all the quotes I get and I feel lucky I have chosen Gm van lines. From the first phone call to last items that guys unload I couldn't be any happier. All my stress was for nothing because they took care of everything for me. Thank you gm again and again.

GM Van Lines - Horrible Service
GM Van Lines - Horrible Service - Image 2

I would like to tell you a little about our move. I was told (I think by the owner) on Monday, June 29th, when I called, that the next day (Tuesday, June 30th) there would be two packers at my house at 9AM to start our pack. The first guys showed up at 12:30PM. Not a great sign but not a huge deal in the scheme of things. There were 4 packers once the truck got there and the owner was there as well. I believe the owner left about 5PM. Other than asking some questions about what went and what did not go, they packers worked on their own. I told them I would take the liquids and packed the fridge and freezer myself. I also packed the entire master bathroom because they had forgotten to do it. At approximately 11:30PM (yes, 11 hours later) and after re-packing the truck at least twice, two of the guys got into a physical altercation in my bedroom and one of them got in his girlfriend’s car and left. They did not finish loading the truck until 3AM. Yes, that is right, 3AM, more than 14 hours after they started. When I moved from Ft. Lauderdale to Dania Beach, packing, loading, driving, and UNLOADING took less than 10 total hours. Because it was 3AM by the time they were done, I did not have time to clean the house, nor did I have time to drive to Sarasota. I had to incur the cost of a hotel room ($130) and a cleaning crew ($160) because I had to be in Sarasota the next morning to meet the realtor, get the keys, and meet the truck. Additionally, because I had to leave before the cleaning was all completed, my wife had to ship some of the items we had packed in her car via Fedex Ground so she would have room in her car to bring the shop vac, vacuum, and cleaning supplies. That cost us an additional $200. So, we had almost $500 in additional costs because of the incompetence and complete lack of professionalism exhibited by the crew. It did not appear any of them had the experience to lead the crew or pack the truck. And, based on how our items arrived, clearly none of them had ever successfully packed either.

Whoever packed the front closet, with my tools and other items, did not use even 1 piece of paper. He threw boxes of screws and bolts into the box without even putting a piece of tape on the front to keep them closed. When they arrived there were hundreds of screws at the bottom of the box. He also threw in lightbulbs. No box, no paper, just lightbulbs in a box with a ton of tools. Obviously all the light bulbs broke.

Whoever packed the kitchen also did not seem to want to use paper. This included an open box of baking soda and two open flour bags (both put in upside down). When those arrived everything in that box was covered with flour and baking soda. Also, at the bottom of that box, under all the heavy dry good, were 6 coffee mugs and a bunch of items stuffed into our metal trash can. The trash can was all mangled and had to be thrown away. The mugs were all broken and also needed to be thrown away. Why would anyone pack a box with an open (did not even have a top) box of baking soda? And why would you put the glass/breakable items on the bottom and then throw a bunch of heavier things on top.

After trying to resolve this with the company, I was told I had to file a claim for the broken items (about $5000 worth of stuff) which could take up to 120 days, and they were unwilling to do anything to compensate us for the extra expenses we had to endure due to the lack of capability/professionalism/experience of the crew.

3 Convicts and a borken down truck

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
What an ordeal. First they showed up 8 hours late, they arrived at 5pm, because of mechanical issues. When the truck arrived, it look like a piece of ***. The van was dirty and the front right wheel was so warn, I don't know how they didn't have a blowout. Who sends their associates in a death trap? Then they tell me that the lift gate is broke, at this point I know we are in for a long night. The lead starts priming me for a tip before the first thing is loaded, don't worry sir, we are going to take care of your stuff and we are going to work fast to save you money bs line and that they work for tips. Whatever, I was going to give them a tip regardless They were very inefficient and on their phones most of the time while moving. Then the lead says, we are not allowed to move equipment with gas in it, I said ok I will run my generator out of gas. But Sir, if you give me a little I can help you out, if you take care of us, we wont tell our boss. They get loaded up and find out they didn't pack the truck good enough, so know we have to make another trip, we left to the new place then they told me that they are only going to unload half the truck and then go pick up the rest, I said there is still a lot of stuff left you might want to unload everything, they said will be ok. Yep went back to the house and they couldn't fit the rest of my stuff. So I told them forget it unload and get the *** out of there. The proablme is they give these guys a *** truck and they were very young and inexperienced. Between the lift gate, inexperience, I cost me an extra 330 (3 hours) Why two trips were needed for a house that was only 2 bed rooms with most of the boxes in storage I don't know. Don't use this company you will not be happy. Forgot to tell you, even after being late 8 hours the owner didn't even offer up any discount or anything, and the dumb thing is I told this company I was moving again in 2 months when our house was completed, you think they would want to do a good job to earn the return business.

Horrible experience in my life !!! I approached GM Van lines to move from Florida to Illinois. Initially all my luggage was picked up on time by 3 guys and placed in some location in Florida. Later I moved to new place and took new apartment in Illinois and gave them the address to deliver my luggage, it has been more than 11 days and nothing has happened. When ever I call them they simply says "Once truck starts they will give me a call " it hasn't happened. All my luggage got held up in Florida , god knows when it will be delivered.

GM Van Lines - Moving Service Review from Tampa, Florida

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They were to arrive between 11 and 1. No show or call so we called and we're to told they had mechanical trouble so it would be around 3. 3 came but no movers and no call. We called and we're told that the one bedroom move they had turned into a 4 bedroom that was 1.5 hours away and they would be here by 8. Eight came and then nine with no movers or a phone call. Once we called they did not even know how we were but once he finally did he stated the truck ran out of gas on 75 so they had send a mechanic. Seriously! You think I will give you responsibility of my belongings when your men aren't responsible enough to put gas I. The Frickin truck? Asked for a refund but thank God it went through paypal.

GM Van Lines of Tampa were a rip off

GM movers moved us to panhandle Fla and stored furniture for three months. First, quote was not accurate. Check their math. Specially point out valuable antiques. Peromised extra care in wrapping. First lie. Mahogany pieces came smashed. Marble top shattered. Legs to a sewing chest snapped in half. Hardware to futon lost. Scratches and gouges everywhere. Bisque pieces the packed had fingers broken off. Crystal chipped. A bisque figure made in 1897 in Germany was tossed in a box with a bronze Chandalier. When the carnage arrived was told to just call office. They could have cared less. English not spoken except for one. Word to wise....if you value the piece move it yourself. They were the absolute worst. From a well traveled person who knows this was a rip. and noooo they were not the cheap bid.
